4 Texas football upperclassmen with the most to prove in spring camp
Just a couple of weeks away from the start of spring ball, second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Texas football program are gearing up for an important set of practices that will go a long way to determining how the two-deep shapes up entering the fall. A number of position battles and new faces to get integrated into the program will headline the start of spring ball for Texas.
Sark and the Longhorns staff will also have a busy time ahead on the recruiting trail during spring camp. But their main focus later this month will remain on the current players on the roster. With so many touted new additions to the program
Texas will start spring camp on March 22. That gives us a little more than 10 days before the first spring practice will take place for the Longhorns.
Upperclassmen that have an important stretch ahead for Texas football in spring camp
Texas is also set to have their spring football game take place on April 23 to round out spring ball.
This gives the Longhorns one month almost exactly to figure out important offseason tasks such as their starting quarterback and potential position changes, especially in the secondary.
Spring ball can also help Texas decipher which players are ready to step up in the spotlight in a critical second year at the helm for Sark as head coach. Familiar faces stepping up into new roles will help Texas make major strides on the field this fall. And it’s hard to see Texas really making much progress in 2022 without some of their more important experienced players coming to the forefront.
With that in mind, here’s a look at four upperclassmen for the Longhorns that have a lot to prove in spring ball.
