The No. 7 ranked Texas women’s basketball team is absolutely on a roll right now. After hanging on to beat the No. 10 ranked Iowa State Cyclones in the semifinals of the Big 12 Tournament this weekend, Texas was able to pull off the upset in the finals against the No. 4 ranked Baylor Bears.

Behind the efforts of freshman guard Rori Harmon and freshman forward Aaliyah Moore, head coach Vic Schaefer and the Longhorns were able to pull off a convincing win over Baylor to round out the weekend. Texas was able to get the early jump on the Bears and never really looked back.

By halftime, the Longhorns had a comfortable 11-point lead over the Bears. Texas did waiver a little bit in the second half, but not enough for Baylor to mount any sort of significant comeback.

Baylor would win the second half by just a two-point margin. But that was still enough for Texas to come out with a win to get their elusive Big 12 Tournament crown by the final score of 67-58.
