We are now less than one week away from the start of spring practice for second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Texas football program. On March 22, Texas will get their first official spring practice underway. And then, Texas will take part in the annual spring football game roughly one month later on April 23 at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.

Sark and the Longhorns staff are prepping for an important few weeks ahead for spring camp. Texas will have a number of new faces participating in spring drills for the first time on the Forty Acres. And a lot of those new additions to the program will likely be holding key spots on the two-deep depth chart heading into the fall.

Texas is welcoming a couple dozen new additions to the program for spring ball by way of both the 2022 signing class and the NCAA Transfer Portal. Texas signed one of the top five-ranked 2022 recruiting classes in the country and brought in four key additions out of the transfer portal so far this offseason.

How the spring depth chart could shape up for Texas football on offense

Moreover, welcoming all these new additions to the program is just one facet of spring ball for the Longhorns. Seeing how various position battles shape up in the weeks ahead and how that competition impacts the two-deep depth chart will be another important aspect of spring ball for Sark and his staff.

There will be a lot of excitement on the Forty Acres during spring camp. In a pivotal year for Sark as the Texas head coach, his process to improve this team largely begins in the spring.

With that in mind, here’s a look at how the offensive two-deep depth chart could shape up for the Longhorns in the spring.
