Texas basketball vs. Purdue: Last-minute betting odds ahead of tip-off
For the first time since 2014, Texas basketball will get to play in the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament. First-year head coach Chris Beard will see his team compete in the Round of 32 against the three-seed Purdue Boilermakers in the East Region on the night of March 20.
Beard and the Longhorns will be looking to pull off the upset of the Boilermakers in the Round of 32 to round out this weekend. But it definitely won’t be easy for the Longhorns to matchup against one of the best offensive teams in the entire country.
Texas comes into this meeting with Purdue sporting a record of 22-11 (10-8 Big 12) following their Round of 64 defeat of the 11-seed and reigning ACC Tournament Champion Virginia Tech Hokies on March 18 by the final score of 81-73. That snapped a four-game losing streak in the NCAA Tournament for the Longhorns that dated back to the 2013-14 season.
Moreover, Purdue comes into this game with a record of 28-7 (14-6 Big Ten) following their Round of 64 triumph over the 14-seed Yale Bulldogs by a comfortable margin of more than 20 points on March 18. Purdue has won four of their last five games heading into this one.
