The running back room is chocked full of talent and depth for the Longhorns again in 2022. Texas might even have a more talented and deep group in 2022 than they did last year. The main difference is the fact that this group now has one more year of experience than they did last season.

Texas has also welcomed another former blue-chip recruit to the running back room this year in the former four-star Klein Cain product and freshman early enrollee Jaydon Blue.

There is a real energy surrounding this group of rushers in 2022 with new running backs coach Tashard Choice joining the staff. Texas has a group that is ready to make more noise in the Big 12 in 2022. And one of the running backs that is ready to take this offense to new heights this year is rising senior Roschon Johnson.

After putting up maybe the most impressive performance of his career in the Longhorns’ regular season win over the Kansas State Wildcats last November, Roschon is set to be a key cog in the offense again in 2022. And his leadership and toughness qualities should once again come to the forefront this year.

What Roschon put on display in Texas’ win over Kansas State, when he essentially willed this team to a win on Senior Day, was something that should still be lasting with this running back room in spring ball. The leadership traits that Roschon brings to the table should be exactly what Sark wants his team to embody in 2022.
