One of the most valuable players for the Longhorns this season was also one of the biggest additions for Beard and his staff out of the NCAA Transfer Portal last offseason. Former Utah Utes two-time All-PAC-12 senior forward Timmy Allen had a stellar first season with the Longhorns.

But it’s hard to tell if Allen is planning on using the COVID-19-redshirt rule to get one more year of eligibility to return for the 2022-23 season. Since it’s hard to see Allen getting selected in the 2022 NBA Draft, it might benefit him to return for one more year and develop himself before taking his talents to the next level.
