3 Texas players that could benefit from Hudson Card starting
As the first week of spring practice on the Forty Acres is about to wrap up for the Texas football program, headlines continue to revolve around the massive visit weekend on campus going on right now and the looming quarterback competition. Texas is hosting some extremely important targets of their 2023 and 2024 recruiting classes on campus this weekend.
And some important practices in the first week of spring ball continue to rage on March 26 for second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns. Texas is splitting first-team reps in camp this spring between the former Ohio State Buckeyes freshman transfer quarterback Quinn Ewers and rising junior Hudson Card. And it looks like there are aspects for both quarterbacks that could give them an edge heading into the fall.

There are still some advantages that Card will have this fall. He will know the offense better than Ewers in all likelihood for this coming season. And Card has some actual starting experience under his belt.
For those reasons, there are some other players on this Texas offense that could be in a more advantageous spot in their own right early this fall with Card as the starting quarterback instead of Ewers. Here’s a look into three Longhorns players that could fit into that bucket.
