One of the biggest connections that the Longhorns could see form with some of their top targets in the 2023 class involves the Louisiana signal-caller Manning and the ultra-talented four-star DeSoto wide receiver Johntay Cook. Manning and Cook seemingly have a good connection building already. And that should only continue throughout the rest of the offseason.

Cook mentioned coming out of this visit weekend with Texas that he could see him and Arch committing to the same school when it’s all said and done for their respective recruitments. That is big for Texas since Sark and his staff looks to sit in a pretty favorable position with both insanely highly touted blue-chip targets of the 2023 class.

But Cook also had some important nuggets to mention in terms of the impression he got coming off his visit with the Longhorns this weekend. He reportedly mentioned that he believes “Sark is an offensive genius” and he always likes the vibes in Austin when he’s here.

All in all, it’s abundantly clear how much Texas is prioritizing the recruitment of Cook. He’s easily one of the most important targets of the Longhorns 2023 class on the offensive side of the ball as this recruiting cycle moves along. Cook coming away from this visit to Austin with the right impression is extremely critical. It looks like a job well done here for Sark and new passing game coordinator/wide receivers coach Brennan Marion.
