Last weekend could wind up being one of the biggest couple of days of the entire calendar year in terms of the timeline for Texas football recruiting in 2022. Second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff hosted a double-digit number of key blue-chip recruits that are targets mainly of their 2023 and 2024 classes over the weekend.

Sark and the Longhorns staff are looking to use key visit weekends such as these early in spring to start really building out the foundation for the next two classes.

But the immediate focus here will lie on the Longhorns 2023 class. Since Texas has only two commits currently in the 2023 class, as of March 28, the fans are wanting to see some activity on the recruiting trail to help this group reach national prominence.

Which former Texas football players are helping recruit 5-Star QB Arch Manning?

Moreover, the process of Texas really reaching their goals with the 2023 class starts and ends with the elite five-star Isidore Newman quarterback Arch Manning. Texas hosted Manning in a key visit over the weekend. And it really looked like Texas pulled out all the stops to make the right impression on Manning last weekend.

Manning is the talk of the town around the Forty Acres of late. And that is likely to be the case throughout this offseason. In fact, that will likely continue to be the case until Manning announces his decision. And depending on whether his decision goes in Texas’ favor could determine how the rest of the year plays out on the recruiting trail for the Longhorns 2023 class.

With that in mind, here’s a look into three former Longhorns players that are helping Texas win over a commitment from Manning this offseason.
