Texas did ‘fantastic’ with 5-Star QB Arch Manning last weekend
The discussions concerning the results coming out of the big visit weekend for the 2023 and 2024 Texas football recruiting classes are bound to continue throughout this week. That is especially true in the case of five-star Isidore Newman quarterback Arch Manning, who had a multi-day visit to Austin last weekend.
Arch is clearly the top target for second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and quarterbacks coach AJ Milwee in the Longhorns 2023 class. In fact, he is likely the top target on the recruiting trail for any current and/or future cycle for the Longhorns at the moment.
That is why it’s so easy to see how Manning’s visit to Austin last weekend was so heavily discussed and continues to be throughout this week.
Moreover, most indications are pointing to a very successful visit for Manning to the Forty Acres over the weekend. Texas coaches seemingly are riding a high right now with Manning as they’re doing a very impressive job in this recruitment.
Texas football coaches did “fantastic” with 5-Star QB Arch Manning last weekend
According to a report from 247Sports early this week, there was a recruiting insider that stated that Texas is doing a “fantastic job” in the recruitment of Manning of late. This 247Sports piece mentioned how Arch “really does love Austin” and that the Texas coaching staff is doing a good job working the connections they have with his camp thus far.
The fact of the matter is that Texas is holding its own in the race to land a commitment from Manning when it looked like this was a moot point just a few months ago. Texas hanging around with other top schools in Manning’s recruitment such as the Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs when this team just went 5-7 last season goes to show how impressive of work the staff is doing on the trail this offseason.
All in all, Manning’s recruitment is far from over. We keep harping on that point despite Texas likely grabbing a good bit of momentum with him coming out of his multi-day visit to Austin last weekend.
Texas and Georgia were the last two schools to host Manning for a visit this spring. And Manning is set to visit with legendary head coach Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide this coming weekend in a really important stretch on the spring schedule for him.
