Maybe the most important cornerback target for the Longhorns 2023 class is one that is visiting this weekend. Five-star Arlington-Martin corner Javien Toviano is a critical target of the Longhorns 2023 class.

If Texas wants to continue the momentum they build on the recruiting trail at the cornerback position with the 2022 signing class between landing the likes of four-star Little Elm product Terrance Brooks and four-star Memorial product Jaylon Guilbeau, Toviano is nearly a must-get recruit. But it’s not as simple as keeping the momentum up with Toviano, though, if they want to land his commitment.

Toviano has around four or five other suitors that are giving all they got on the recruiting trail to continue to make big moves with his camp. Some of the other competitors on the recruiting trail to watch this spring in the recruitment of Toviano are the Oklahoma Sooners, Texas A&M Aggies, and Alabama Crimson Tide.

Yet, this will be a really important weekend for the Longhorns to continue making some big moves with Toviano that started last fall. Texas could really start to set themselves apart from the rest of the competition in the recruitment of Toviano if they hit it big with him this weekend.

It’s hard to know exactly how many more visits Toviano will make to each of his top schools this offseason before announcing a decision. This is why Texas needs to make the right impression with him this weekend before another top school in the race to land his commitment starts to pull away.
