With spring practice now in full spring for second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Texas football program in early April, there are a ton of notable storylines worth following in the weeks ahead. Texas officially began spring practice back on March 22. And we are now less than three weeks away from the start of the spring football game, which is set to take place at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on April 23.

Sark and the Longhorns are now roughly a week and a half into spring camp. And most of the early signs coming out of spring ball show that this team will have potential this fall with all the new additions to the roster so far this offseason, but there is still a long way to go.

That is especially the case in areas such as the quarterback position, linebacking corps, and the offensive line. Texas does have some depth issues in certain areas on each side of the ball in spring camp. And that is largely due to a couple of factors.

Which position changes should Texas football fans be watching mid-spring camp?

The first is the fact that Texas doesn’t have their entire 2022 signing class on campus yet participating in spring ball. Texas will be able to add more bodies along the offensive and defensive fronts come summer. But Texas is short in those spots for the time being.

And another factor contributing to some of the uncertainties on the offensive side of the ball is the youth and inexperience at the quarterback position.

Nonetheless, the coaching staff made some necessary moves in the last few weeks to try and get the two-deep depth chart right for the spring game in a few weeks. With that in mind, here’s a look at three important mid-spring position changes to watch in camp for the Longhorns.
