A wideout target that remained on the Longhorns’ radar for more than a full calendar year now is the four-star local wide receiver and four-star Westlake product Jaden Greathouse. Texas initially offered Greathouse way back on March 25, 2020. But this coaching staff under Sark and Marion are seemingly doing an even better job in the recruitment of Greathouse compared to the former staff under Tom Herman.

Texas is making some pretty big moves with Greathouse this spring after putting the plan in place to host him for multiple visits in Austin. Since Greathouse is an Austin native, it’s easy for Texas to maintain this seamless line of communication with his camp.

And that has opened the door for Texas to potentially take the lead in the race to land a commitment from Greathouse at some point this offseason.

Texas already hosted Greathouse for multiple visits this spring. And Greathouse might be looking to get back to campus at least a couple more times before the dead period arrives in a few weeks.

It’s huge for the Longhorns to be able to get Greathouse to campus as many times as he’s been already this spring. But it’s also a good sign for Texas that Greathouse seemingly feels like a priority among their top wideout targets in the 2023 class.

For a good while there, it looked like Sark, Marion, and the Longhorns might not be placing that much priority on the recruitment of Greathouse. And given the fact that he nearly ranks as a top 100 high school prospect in the nation for this cycle, it seems like a wise move for the staff to make Greathouse a priority this offseason.
