On April 9, second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Texas football program got underway with yet another key spring scrimmage just a couple of weeks ahead of the spring football game. And there was a lot of good news and nuggets coming out of this weekend’s spring scrimmage.

Sark and the Longhorns staff had to be impressed for the most part with what they witnessed this weekend in an important scrimmage on the late morning/afternoon of April 9. Texas saw highlights from players on each side of the ball in this weekend’s scrimmage.

All in all, it sounds like there were more positive signs coming out of this weekend’s scrimmage by a good margin compared to the last two weekends. And that is what you want to see given the fact that the Longhorns are now a few weeks deep into spring ball with a number of new additions to the program still trying to transition into the mix.

Texas will only have a couple more weekend scrimmages in spring camp this offseason before they are set to take part in the Orange-White Game. The Orange-White spring football game is set to take place at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on April 23.

Moreover, while Sark and the Longhorns staff appear to still have a few kinks to work out with this squad in the last couple of weeks remaining for spring practice, they have to be happy with where this team is at coming out of this weekend.

With that in mind, here’s a look at four Longhorns players that shined in the spring scrimmage on April 9.
