Texas A&M trending for 5-Star Texas LB target Anthony Hill
The biggest competitor for Texas football on the recruiting trail during the 2023 cycle is likely going to be head coach Jimbo Fisher and the Texas A&M Aggies. Second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff have their work cut out for them with their 2023 recruiting class after Fisher and the Aggies signed the nation’s top-ranked 2022 class.
And it already looks like one of the top targets for the Longhorns 2023 class is starting to move more in the direction of the Aggies this spring.
The elite five-star Denton-Ryan linebacker Anthony Hill is starting to have some early indicators popping up that give the impression that he’s trending to give his commitment to the Aggies over the Longhorns among other top schools. And it’s not just one recruiting outlet/source that is starting to show the indication of Hill leaning toward the Aggies over the rest of the field.
First and foremost, the latest expert 247Sports Crystal Ball Prediction for Hill projects his commitment to go to Texas A&M. While that Crystal Ball Prediction came with a moderate level of confidence, that’s still a pretty abrupt expert forecast to come about this week in the recruitment of Hill.
5-Star Texas football LB target Anthony Hill now trending to Texas A&M
It will be interesting to see if there are any other Crystal Ball Predictions for Hill in the next few days/weeks.
Moreover, there was also a recent move in the On3 recruiting prediction machine in terms of the prediction of where he’ll commit. The On3 RPM now gives Texas A&M a firm lead in the race to land a commitment from Hill. On3 gives Texas A&M a 42 percent chance to get Hill’s commitment, which is nearly 20 percent better than the team in second place (the Oklahoma Sooners).
The On3 RPM has Texas with the third-best odds to land Hill’s commitment, at roughly 19 percent.
Lastly, even the Rivals FutureCast is giving the indication of Texas A&M taking the lead in the recruitment of Hill this spring. The latest entry into the Rivals FutureCast among their analysts and publishers has Hill’s commitment landing with the Aggies over the Longhorns.
All these forecasts/projections concerning the commitment of Hill moved in Texas A&M’s favor following his most recent visit to College Station last week. Hill specifically visited Texas A&M on April 9. That came one week after his spring visit to Texas, which came back on April 2.
It looks like the Aggies are starting to set the tone in the recruitment of Hill. This isn’t any reason to panic for the Longhorns faithful at this point of the offseason, but it’s a sign that this coaching staff has a lot of work to do to narrow the gap with the Aggies in the race to land a commitment from Hill.
