5 key recruits visiting Texas this weekend
Anthony White, ATH
Among the most versatile potential blue-chip targets on the radar of the Longhorns 2023 class that doesn’t get as much attention as he should is the talented and potent four-star Abernathy athlete Anthony White. Texas is one of nearly a double-digit number of schools that have offers out to White. But his recruitment is really starting to heat up since the turn of the calendar year.
This is a big point in the recruiting timeline of White as he’s currently in the midst of a lot of spring trips to some of his top schools. A few of the schools that White already visited this spring includes the Oklahoma Sooners, Texas Tech Red Raiders, and USC Trojans.
Moreover, this will be the second visit for White to the Forty Acres of the offseason this weekend. White also visited Texas a few months ago, specifically on Jan. 22 on the Junior Elite Day. And this is also the third visit that White will be taking to Austin since last November.
White could fit at either the cornerback or wide receiver position for the Longhorns if he lands on the Forty Acres with the 2023 class. There are indications that Texas has pitched him to play on either side of the ball. But most of the early conversation seems to surround White playing on the defensive side of the ball if he signs with the Longhorns 2023 class.
There’s not really a set timeline for White to come to a decision at any point this year. But Texas can make some big moves with a successful visit this weekend to continue trying to separate themselves among the other top schools in the race to land a commitment from White such as Oklahoma and Texas Tech.
