D’Shawn Jamison, CB

From the looks of it, the returning redshirt senior cornerback D’Shawn Jamison just keeps getting better in spring camp in the last few weeks. There was some doubt as to the performance of Jamison early in spring practice. But most of that doubt has faded since last weekend.

Whether it was the pressure that was potentially mounting on Jamison that the early enrollee freshman corners were putting on him in camp or just him finding his groove in the last couple of weeks, Longhorns fans should be taking note of his progress in camp. Jamison is going to be a playmaker to watch in the spring game next weekend without a doubt.

Yet, the highlighting play for Jamison this weekend was definitely his pick-six of Ewers on a ball that was meant for the former three-star recruit and sophomore wide receiver Casey Cain. He jumped the route cleanly and made the play on the ball that Texas fans will want to see out of him this fall.

Demarvion Overshown, LB

Multiple reports coming out of the weekend indicated that one of the best players on the defensive side of the ball for the second straight scrimmage was the super senior linebacker Demarvion Overshown. Apparently, Overshown was all over the field, making plays both stopping the run and rushing the passer.

It sounds like Overshown had a couple of quarterback pressures that he sparked and was a major factor in the ground game having a slow day on April 16.

What we’re hearing about Overshown’s performance in this weekend’s scrimmage is eerily similar to what he heard last weekend. And that is a great sign of things to come for the uber-talented fifth-year senior come this fall.
