There is a notable trio of targets worth discussing in the NCAA Transfer Portal in the midst of the latter portion of spring ball for second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Texas football program. That trio includes the likes of the former Alabama Crimson Tide talented freshman wide receiver Agiye Hall, two-time All-Big 12 TCU Horned Frogs senior defensive end/edge rusher Ochaun Mathis, and former UCLA Bruins senior linebacker Caleb Johnson.
It is the former of those three aforementioned notable transfer portal targets for Sark and the Longhorns staff that has the least clarity surrounding his recruitment at the moment, though. Hall hasn’t really been connected to any other schools than Texas since he originally entered the transfer portal last week.
And Hall was on campus in Austin last weekend for a multi-day visit that we’re now learning apparently went pretty well. I say that since there wasn’t much discussion coming out of Austin during or directly after the visit wrapped up.

The visit for Hall with the Longhorns last weekend apparently went so well that there was an expert 247Sports Transfer Crystal Ball Prediction that went in Texas’ favor early this week. Texas is the only school with a 247Sports Transfer Crystal Ball Prediction for Hall as of the morning of April 19.

Moreover, one of the first people in Hall’s camp to come out and speak on the visit last weekend is his father, Vincent Hall. In a discussion with Inside Texas published on April 19, Hall mentioned essentially that they had a “great time” visiting campus and Austin in general.
This is positive news for Sark and the Longhorns staff given the fact that they’ve clearly made Hall a top priority out of the transfer portal this spring. There was some level of mystery surrounding the potential timeline and the top schools that Hall would be connected to coming out of the spring. But it now looks like Texas would have to be considered the frontrunner at the moment in the race to land a commitment from Hall out of the portal.
Texas finished up last season with a record of 5-7 (3-6 Big 12), missing out on bowl season for the first time since 2016. Sark and the Longhorns are set to take part in the annual Orange-White spring football game at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on April 23.
