A constant storyline for second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff that really came front and center for the Texas football program in the last few weeks is the movement in the NCAA Transfer Portal. But the recent news cycle for Texas concerning the transfer portal pretty much solely has to do with potential additions to the roster.

Sark and the Longhorns staff haven’t lost anyone to the portal in a few weeks now. In fact, the most recent loss to the transfer portal for the Longhorns was a player that wasn’t even on the spring football roster, in the former blue-chip offensive lineman Tyler Johnson. Texas saw Johnson commit to the Houston Cougars out of the portal a few days ago.

Texas football could see some players buried in the depth chart enter the portal after spring camp

The recent news cycle saw Sark and the Longhorns staff host a plethora of transfer portal targets on visits or at least establish communication with them in the last few weeks. That includes the former TCU Horned Frogs standout edge rusher/defensive end Ochaun Mathis, Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Agiye Hall, and Georgia Bulldogs offensive tackle Amarius Mims, among others.

Yet, we’re likely going to see another wave of transfer portal entrants at the conclusion of spring ball. Texas wraps up spring camp following the Orange-White spring football game on April 23. And it feels like we could see at least another couple of Longhorns players wind up in the transfer portal in the weeks following the conclusion of spring ball.

But which Longhorns players could be in a situation where they might want to enter the portal at the conclusion of spring ball? Here’s a look at three to watch.
