Hayden Conner, OT

A potential starter to watch along the offensive line this year is the former blue-chip recruit and rising sophomore offensive tackle Hayden Conner. Flood and the Longhorns definitely saw Conner’s stock rise throughout spring ball thus far. He seems like he’s really established himself as one of the offensive linemen among the underclassmen that are making a lot of necessary strides in 2022.

With Texas facing some uncertainty at both offensive tackle spots this year, Conner is definitely in the mix to win a starting spot if he can continue to impress the coaching staff throughout summer workouts and fall camp.

Conner has also played at more than half of the spots along the offensive line in spring camp and Flood and the Longhorns continue to try to piece the puzzle together in the trenches. He’s apparently taken snaps at both guard and tackle positions in spring practice.

The spring game looked like a big opportunity for Conner to show the fans the progress he’s made and continue to make his appeal to win a starting job this year. Instead, Conner will have to continue to work hard in workouts and practice come this fall to prove that he is worth starting reps early this coming season.

This is a shame since the spring game was definitely the best chance for Conner to simulate live-action reps before the 2022 season arrives.
