How to watch the Texas football spring game: TV/stream, game time
In just a couple of hours, we will see second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Texas football program start what will be a non-standard format Orange-White spring football game to cap spring camp. Texas isn’t taking part in the usual format of the spring football game this weekend due to a shortage of depth along the offensive line.
Sark announced that Texas would be taking part in an altered spring game earlier this week, much to the dismay of the Longhorns faithful. But it makes sense given the fact that Texas only has a single-digit number of scholarship offensive linemen available this weekend. Texas is missing the likes of sophomore offensive tackle Andrej Karic due to an ankle sprain and sophomore OL Isaiah Hookfin, who is still recovering from a motorcycle accident he suffered a few months ago.
Texas will also have the rising junior star running back Bijan Robinson limited due to a lower-body injury for this altered spring game this weekend.
Moreover, here’s a look at the start time, TV/streaming information, and other news and notes for the non-standard format Orange-White spring football game on April 23 at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.

Texas football spring game news and notes
The Longhorn faithful are getting excited to see some of the bigger stars on this team and some of the more prominent new additions in the spring game on this night. The former Ohio State Buckeyes freshman transfer quarterback Quinn Ewers will command most of the attention in this altered spring game.
Ewers will be looking to take command of the looming quarterback competition to cap spring camp if he can outshine the rising junior Hudson Card this weekend. In the last few weeks, Ewers seemingly was getting an edge over Card in the quarterback battle.
But that largely went back and forth throughout the spring.
Moreover, Sark and his staff will now get one more chance to evaluate the two-deep and some of the positional needs that remain as we exit spring camp in this altered Orange-White Game on April 23.
Texas officially began spring practice just over one month ago, specifically back on March 22. And then, Sark and the Longhorns are set to open up the 2022 regular season at home on Sep. 3 against Louisiana-Monroe.
