The second loss to the NCAA Transfer Portal of the week so far came for second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Texas football program on the afternoon of April 28 in the form of the rising redshirt sophomore linebacker/running back Jaden Hullaby. Texas lost Hullaby to the transfer portal just a few weeks after the coaching staff tried a position change for him.

Hullaby spent his first two years playing for Texas at the linebacker position. But the Longhorns staff moved him from linebacker to running back this spring due to a depth shortage with that position group at the time.

Yet, Texas is going to be very deep and talented in their running back room for the foreseeable future. And three years into his stint with the Longhorns, Hullaby likely didn’t see a clear path to earning any significant level of playing time at the running back position.

Which Texas football player could enter the portal next after Jaden Hullaby and Myron Warren?

Linebacker definitely had more of a shot for Hullaby to make an impact this fall. But he was likely facing an uphill battle to earn live game reps at either position.

Thus, Texas lost a former three-star recruit that could’ve played in more of an H-back role this fall to the transfer portal. Hullaby joins the rising junior defensive lineman Myron Warren as the second Longhorns player to enter the portal in the week following the conclusion of spring camp.

And there could be more Longhorns players that emerge in the transfer portal from what we’re hearing after the conclusion of spring ball.

With that in mind, here’s a look into a prediction of who the next Longhorns player could be in the transfer portal after the departure of Hullaby on April 28.
