Matt Landers, WR

One of the more recent transfer portal entrants that could catch the Longhorns’ eye considering the losses at the wide receiver position of late is the former Georgia Bulldogs and Toledo Rockets redshirt junior Matt Landers. The former Georgia commit had a bit of a breakout season in 2021 as he registered 20 catches for 514 receiving yards and five touchdown catches.

Landers really caught fire for Toledo late last season, as he was one of the highest-graded wideouts in the Group of Five through the last five weeks of the campaign.

The 6-foot-5 and 205-pound Landers could help restore some of the depth for Texas among their outside receivers. That would be a big help for the Longhorns who just lost Kelvontay Dixon, Dajon Harrison, and Marcus Washington to the portal in the last few days.

Cody Jackson, WR

One of the more potent and talented wideouts to recently enter the transfer portal is the Oklahoma Sooners freshman wide receiver and former blue-chip recruit Cody Jackson. This speedy and elusive 5-foot-11 and 180-pound slot receiver would be a great fit in Sark’s offensive system.

Jackson is likely to be pursued by Texas in the transfer portal given the aforementioned plethora of departures from this wide receiver room in the last few days.

Jordan Addison, WR

While most figure that it is a foregone conclusion that the reigning Biletnikoff Award winner and the former Pitt Panthers star sophomore wide receiver Jordan Addison will land with new head coach Lincoln Riley and the USC Trojans, that really isn’t a done deal it seems. Addison could still be pursued by other schools, and it appears that Texas will have some interest.

If new wide receivers coach/passing game coordinator Brennan Marion could convince his reigning award-winning wideout to come to the Forty Acres, that would continue to help transform this offense at the skill positions.
