Isaiah Land, EDGE

By far the best target in the transfer portal at the moment among edge rushers for the Longhorns is the former Florida A&M senior stud Isaiah Land. Texas should be immediately making Land, the nation’s leading sack-getter among Division I players last season, their top priority in the portal post-spring ball.

Land would immediately help to change the fortunes for the Texas pass rush after they somehow missed on the former TCU Horned Frogs senior edge rusher/defensive end Ochaun Mathis last weekend.

Quashon Fuller, DE/EDGE

A decent risk that the Longhorns could take if they’re looking to add an edge rusher by way of the transfer portal, and don’t hit on any of their other targets this spring, is the former Florida State Seminoles redshirt freshman defensive end/EDGE Quashon Fuller. This former blue-chip recruit was improved for the Noles last season.

Fuller registered a career-best eight quarterback pressures, three tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, and eight combined tackles while getting just north of 150 defensive snaps last season.

But it looks like Fuller was going to be facing an uphill battle in terms of earning more playing time for Florida State.

Texas might offer a clearer path to playing time this coming season for Fuller. And if he could keep making some of the necessary strides to move his game forward this fall, then Fuller could be a decent addition to this defensive front as he could play at the jack or the buck position.

Jermayne Lole, DL

Texas might not want to be adding numbers among defensive tackles at the moment out of the portal. Yet, if they are, they should look into the former Arizona State junior defensive tackle Jermayne Lole.

An extremely productive defensive lineman in the last two seasons, Lole brings more than 20 tackles for loss, a dozen sacks, nine batted balls, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries to the table from his time playing for the Sun Devils.
