With the spring visit season now in the books for the most part for the 2023 Texas football recruiting class, planning out the summer schedule is now a big looming task for second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff. Texas will be looking to expand the reach of the 2023 class this summer in a big way.

Sark and the Longhorns staff still had a pretty quiet spring on the recruiting trail by most consideration. That is at least the case in terms of the number of commits that Sark and the Longhorns landed in the midst of spring ball in the 2023 and 2024 recruiting classes.

Texas is now up to five commits in the 2023 class, and two in the 2024 class. Sark and the Longhorns received their latest pair of commitments in the 2023 class at the end of spring camp from a couple of four-star skill position recruits in the Aldine Eisenhower (TX) wide receiver Ryan Niblett and DeSoto running back Tre Wisner.

To round out the trio of spring commits for the Longhorns in the 2023 class, Sark and his staff also landed the underrated three-star North Crowley linebacker S’Maje Burrell a little more than one month ago.

Now, Texas will be looking to move closer to a double-digit number of commitments in the 2023 class and continue to build the foundation for the 2024 class as we move into the summer months. In order to accomplish those feats, Sark and the Longhorns staff will be planning out the summer visit schedule accordingly.

That means, in particular for the 2023 class, that Texas will be scheduling official visitors with summer decision timelines.

With that in mind, here’s a look at an analysis of where the Longhorns stand with some top recruits for the 2023 class that are planning for summer announcements.
