We haven’t heard concrete evidence yet that the former Ohio State Buckeyes freshman transfer quarterback and elite five-star recruit Quinn Ewers has helped the Longhorns coaching staff recruit Addison out of the portal as of yet. But it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if Ewers was actively helping pursue Addison.

Ewers is the type of talent that could have that type of draw where other top stars such as Addison will be interested in linking up with him out of the portal. Addison and Ewers could hypothetically be one of the best quarterback-wide receiver connections in the entire country.

Moreover, it seems like the more talent Ewers has around him the better ahead of the 2022 campaign. While the main focal point for Sark and offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood on this side of the ball right now should be to improve the blocking for Ewers and Co., putting as much talent around him as possible is still key.

You could easily argue that Ewers would be throwing to the best receiving corps in the country of Addison joined this wide receiver room this offseason. A wide receiver room featuring the likes of Whittington, Worthy, Neyor, Hall, Addison, incoming freshman Brenen Thompson, sophomore Troy Omeire, etc., would be nothing short of absolutely lethal.

It’s hard to find a downside from Ewers’ perspective as to why he would want to help this coaching staff recruit Addison out of the portal. As is the case with Bijan, there are definitely more pros than cons from Ewers’ perspective if Texas could get a commitment from Addison out of the portal this offseason.
