Predicting destinations for uncommitted Texas football transfers
The NCAA Transfer Portal is continuing to command the headlines at this point of the offseason around the college football landscape, including with second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Texas football program. Texas has remained active in the transfer portal since the turn of the calendar year.
And that was especially true in terms of the constant news cycle surrounding Sark and the Longhorns in the transfer portal since the start of spring ball a couple of months ago. Texas seemingly had constant activity in the transfer portal in terms of additions and departures for the team in the last few months.
Texas has now added five players (six if you include preferred walk-ons) by way of the transfer portal so far this offseason. Some of the highlights of those five portal additions this offseason include the former Ohio State Buckeyes freshman quarterback Quinn Ewers, Wyoming Cowboys redshirt freshman wide receiver Isaiah Neyor, and Alabama Crimson Tide junior tight end Jahleel Billingsley.
Former Texas football transfers still uncommitted in the portal this spring
But Texas has lost a lot more than they’ve added via the transfer portal so far this offseason. Texas has now lost north of a dozen players to the portal since the conclusion of last season. And the Longhorns also lost a few players to the portal before the conclusion of last season. Those still count as losses to the portal for the 2022 class for the Longhorns.
Roughly half of the Longhorns players that have entered the transfer portal so far this offseason have found their next home. That still leaves a good number of Longhorns players trying to find their next landing spot out of the portal.
With that in mind, here’s a look at a prediction of where the remaining former Longhorns players available in the portal still at this point of the offseason will ultimately land ahead of next season.
