3 Texas football players that would benefit most from Jordan Addison

Earlier this week, second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and new wide receivers coach/passing game coordinator Brennan Marion hosted one of the biggest NCAA Transfer Portal targets for Texas football so far this offseason. Texas hosted the reigning Biletnikoff Award winner and former Pitt Panthers sophomore star wide receiver Jordan Addison on an official visit for a couple of days this week.

If Sark, Marion, and the Longhorns are able to land a commitment from Addison out of the portal, it would be the third scholarship wide receiver to transfer to Texas and the fourth if you include preferred walk-ons. All told, the Longhorns have landed commitments from transfer wide receivers such as the former Alabama Crimson Tide freshman Agiye Hall, Wyoming Cowboys redshirt freshman Isaiah Neyor, and Montana senior Gabe Sulser.

But given the number of losses for Sark, Marion, and the Longhorns at the wide receiver position to the transfer portal so far this offseason, it looks like they still have work to do to round out this room ahead of next season. Texas has lost roughly a half-dozen wideouts to the portal since last fall. Thus, they will probably need more than three transfer additions before summer workouts to ensure depth is strong in the wide receiver room.

And there would be no better way for Texas to add wideouts via the portal at this point of the offseason than by landing a commitment from Addison.
