Earlier this week, Texas football hosted the reigning Biletnikoff Award winner and former Pitt Panthers star sophomore wide receiver Jordan Addison on an official visit in Austin. Second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and new wide receivers coach/passing game coordinator Brennan Marion seemingly left Addison with a positive impression coming away from this visit too.

It sounds like it was all hands on deck for the Longhorns players and coaches, for the most part, in helping to recruit Addison to Austin out of the NCAA Transfer Portal. Texas had multiple players assisting with the recruitment of Addison, as is now evident in the days following his official visit this week.

And one of the new Longhorns players that was helping to draw Addison to the Forty Acres during his official visit this week was the former Ohio State Buckeyes freshman transfer quarterback and elite five-star recruit Quinn Ewers. On the evening of May 12, Ewers posted on his Twitter timeline that Addison “looks good in that burnt orange and white”.

In that tweet, Ewers was in a picture with the likes of redshirt junior wide receiver Jordan Whittington, Marion, and Addison of course.

It looks like there was a similar picture taken during Addison’s official visit this week in Austin that included the likes of Ewers, Whittington, Addison, Marion, etc., that another Texas star posted in the last 24 hours. Star sophomore wideout Xavier Worthy posted a picture that included the aforementioned Longhorns players/coach and himself.

This is really showing that it is all hands on deck for the Longhorns players and coaches to recruit Addison to Austin. If Worthy and Whittington are even in on the recruitment of Addison out of the portal this offseason, that means that the Longhorns are fully bought into pursuing the former Pitt breakout star.

If Texas were to add Addison to this wide receiver room at some point this offseason, it would be hard to find any receiving corps around the country better than this one. Texas already has the likes of Worthy, Whittington, former Wyoming Cowboys redshirt freshman Isaiah Neyor, former Alabama Crimson Tide touted freshman Agiye Hall, incoming freshman Brenen Thompson, etc.

Addison joining this group would make this about as lethal of a wide receiver room as any in recent memory.

Addison also appears to be considering the USC Trojans and Alabama at this point in his transfer process. USC still looks to be the frontrunner heading into the weekend, but Texas and Alabama are continuing to challenge new head coach Lincoln Riley and the Trojans in the race to land a commitment from Addison out of the portal.
