The final Longhorns player up on this list that would potentially suffer from the addition of Addison via the transfer portal this offseason is another player that arrived in Austin via the transfer market. The former Alabama Crimson Tide junior tight end and gifted receiver Jahleel Billingsley was a big addition for Sark, special teams coordinator/tight ends coach Jeff Banks, and the Longhorns a few months back.

Billingsley should be an impactful part of the passing game for Sark and the Longhorns this fall. He adds some punch to this tight end room in terms of him being the most proven and productive receiver in the mix ahead of next season.

Billingsley gives the Longhorns nearly 600 career receiving yards and six receiving touchdowns in his collegiate career to date. The next most productive tight end on the Longhorns roster for the 2022 season is rising sophomore Juan Davis, who has just two career touches under his belt.

Yet, just because Billingsley is the most proven and productive tight end in the receiving game on the roster for the Longhorns this year doesn’t mean he won’t be challenged for reps this coming season. Sophomore tight ends Ja’Tavion Sanders and Gunnar Helm were already going to challenge Billingsley for key snaps and targets in the passing game this fall.

And if you add Addison joining this receiving corps into the equation for this fall, you get a situation where Billingsley is really going to have to prove himself in fall camp to get his fair share of targets this coming season.
