When second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Texas football program take on head coach Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide on Sep. 10, the game will be televised on FOX.

On the afternoon of May 16, the Fox College Football Twitter page posted that they are going to be the broadcasting network on the Texas-Alabama game set for Week 2 on Sep. 10. But there still isn’t a kick-off time announced for this game as of yet.

This will be a really big game for Sark and the Longhorns to take on his former boss and the legendary head coach Saban early in the regular season. The second game of the regular season slate for Sark and the Longhorns will be coming against the reigning National Champion runner-up Crimson Tide.

Sark was the Alabama offensive coordinator in 2019 and 2020. He was also the interim offensive coordinator for a stretch of time (along with holding the role of an offensive analyst) during the 2016 season with the Crimson Tide.

Sark also took the Broyles Award as the nation’s top assistant coach to cap the 2020 season, also his last with Alabama before replacing Tom Herman as the Texas head coach early in the 2021 offseason.

Moreover, this is the first time since the 2010 BCS National Championship Game that the Longhorns and Crimson Tide will meet on the gridiron. That meeting a little more than a decade ago between Texas and Alabama is the lone victory for the Crimson Tide is the history of this series.

This is also the first meeting between the Longhorns and Crimson Tide in the state of Texas since 1982 (which was held in the Cotton Bowl in Dallas) and the first in Austin since way back in 1922. It will be a full century since the last time Texas and Alabama faced each other in Austin.

The game is set to take place at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Sep. 10. It is the second game of the regular season for the Longhorns, with the first coming at home against Louisiana-Monroe on Sep. 3.
