While essentially all the focus for Texas football fans in the NCAA Transfer Portal at this point of the offseason lies on the recruitment of the reigning Biletnikoff Award winner and former Pitt Panthers star sophomore wide receiver Jordan Addison, there are still other needs to be addressed. It would definitely be monumental for Texas to land a commitment out of the portal from Addison, but this coaching staff can’t overlook other positional needs at hand ahead of summer workouts.

Second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns staff appear to still have some depth needs to plug on both sides of the ball that should be addressed in the near future. A few of the positional needs worth mentioning for Texas to address in the portal throughout the remainder of the offseason sit at linebacker/edge rusher, defensive back, offensive line, and wide receiver.

Which portal players are worth a Texas football offer this summer?

The positional needs at defensive back and wide receiver are more in to add depth than they are getting an instant impact starter ahead of next season. But Texas could really use some immediate impact players out of the portal along the offensive line and at linebacker/edge rusher.

With the portal depth thinning out post-spring ball, the options are dwindling down for Sark and the Longhorns staff to find transfers that can make an impact heading into next season. That’s why the Longhorns need to get down to work now to find the best portal players to fill various positional needs throughout the remainder of the offseason.

Here’s a look at an analysis of four portal players the Longhorns should offer heading into the summer.
