Droves of top coaches go to see 5-Star QB Arch Manning
As far as recruiting goes for the Texas football program and second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian this spring, there is clearly no bigger prize than the elite five-star Isidore Newman quarterback Arch Manning. Arch is the clear-cut top target of the 2023 class for Texas, and he was firmly in the spotlight this weekend as Newman High School held its annual spring game entering the weekend.
And there were a ton of top coaches from some of the most notable Power Five programs around the country in attendance this weekend to see Arch play in the Newman spring game. Texas had their quarterbacks coach, AJ Milwee, in attendance in Louisiana on May 20 to see Arch in the Newman spring game.
Some of the other significant coaches in attendance included the Alabama Crimson Tide defensive coordinator Pete Golding, LSU Tigers quarterbacks coach Joe Sloan, Georgia Bulldogs offensive coordinator Todd Monken, and Texas cornerbacks coach Terry Joseph, among many others.

It wasn’t all that surprising, though, to see some of the coaches that were in attendance for Arch’s spring game. Given the fact that Texas, Georgia, and Alabama are the presumed top three schools in the race to land a commitment from Manning, it makes sense that notable assistants from each program were in attendance for this event this weekend.
Moreover, from the looks of it, Arch had a nice spring game showing too. He showed the quick decision-making and tight accuracy that we’ve come to know from his game in the last couple of years.
Arch will continue to remain in the thick of the spotlight for the Longhorns as he was able to set his official visit for the summer, specifically on June 17-19. He’s also now on the books to have official visits with the likes of Georgia (June 3) and Alabama (June 10). Each of these officials is likely going to be a multi-day visit for Arch.
Texas currently has five commitments in their 2023 class, with the highest-rated being the four-star Aldine Eisenhower (TX) wide receiver Ryan Niblett. But this summer could see a major spike in activity on the recruiting trail for Sark and the Longhorns in the 2023 class.
