Second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Texas football program added the sixth player by way of the NCAA Transfer Portal on the evening of May 23 thanks to a commitment from a former Big 12 foe. Texas added a commitment out of the portal early this week from the former Iowa State Cyclones senior wide receiver Tarique Milton.

Of the six transfer portal additions for the Longhorns so far this offseason, three of them came at the wide receiver position. Milton is the most experienced by a good margin, though, compared to the other two wideout portal additions for Sark, new wide receivers coach/passing game coordinator Brennan Marion, and the Longhorns.

The other two portal wideouts that the Longhorns added this offseason are the former Wyoming Cowboys redshirt freshman Isaiah Neyor and Alabama Crimson Tide freshman Agiye Hall.

Who is the next portal commit for Texas football after Tarique Milton?

Texas also has three other key portal additions in the former Ohio State Buckeyes freshman quarterback Quinn Ewers, Alabama junior tight end Jahleel Billingsley, and Ohio State redshirt freshman cornerback Ryan Watts.

It does sound like there’s still a good possibility that Sark and the Longhorns could add at least one other portal commitment before fall camp. Texas could very likely head into the summer with 35 or 36 scholarship additions to the roster from this offseason.

But the next portal addition for the Longhorns is a bigger question mark. Texas found good value by landing a commitment from Milton out of the portal. But there are some bigger positions of need that the Longhorns must address.

With that in mind, here’s a look at a prediction of who the next Longhorns portal addition could be after landing Milton on May 23.
