Jonah Miller, OT

A few times already this offseason, I’ve mentioned the former Oregon Ducks towering 6-foot-8 and 285-pound blue-chip offensive tackle recruit and skilled freshman Jonah Miller as a possible transfer portal target worth looking into for Texas. There would be much worse options out there at the moment for offensive line coach/offensive line coach Kyle Flood and the Longhorns this offseason.

It wouldn’t surprise me if there is an offensive lineman that emerges with some interest from the Longhorns at some point this offseason. Texas has more question marks lying along the offensive line than just about any other position group on this side of the ball.

And at this point of the offseason, Texas might not find a much better offensive tackle that could compete for reps in the near future than Miller. The size and power that Miller brings to the table would be difficult to match by most other offensive tackles that Texas could find either on the current roster or among the incoming freshman class.

Miller has good burst and motor off the line of scrimmage along with good fundamentals and excellent power in blocking for the run and holding up the pocket. He could still add some weight and work on maintaining consistency in terms of his push through multiple levels of the defense and holding up his own leverage at the pad level.

But these are aspects that are common for a freshman offensive lineman that is still growing, such as Miller, to improve early in their collegiate careers.
