Starting on May 26, No. 16 ranked Texas softball and head coach Mike White will be battling the No. 4 ranked (also the national four seed for the postseason) Arkansas Razorbacks in the Fayetteville Super Regional. Texas was able to advance to super regionals for the second year in a row with their unlikely triumph in the Seattle Regional last weekend.

In order to advance to the Fayetteville Super Regional this week, the Longhorns pulled off the upset of the No. 13 Washington Huskies in the Seattle Regional last weekend. Texas left Seattle with a 3-1 record from that regional. Two of the three wins came over Washington, and one of the losses. The other win came over Weber State in the first game of the Seattle Regional.

Following the regional-clinching 3-2 win over Washington to move onto the Fayetteville Super Regional on May 22, Texas comes into this super regional with a record of 41-18-1 (12-6 Big 12). Texas will be looking to win two games in a row and four of their last five if they can top the Razorbacks on May 26.

Meanwhile, Arkansas comes into this super regional sporting a record of 47-9 (19-5 SEC) following a clean sweep of Princeton and No. 24 Oregon in the Fayetteville Regional last week. Arkansas had little trouble dealing with Princeton and Oregon, winning three games by a combined margin of a whopping 21 runs.

The first pitch time between Texas and Arkansas in the Fayetteville Super Regional is set for 6 p.m. CT on May 26 at Bogle Park.

Here’s a look at the betting odds, TV/streaming information, and game prediction as Texas gets set to travel to Fayetteville to take on Arkansas in the first game of super regionals this week.

Texas softball vs. Arkansas pick

It is presumed that the Longhorns will have the standout senior Hailey Dolcini getting the start on the mound in the super regional opener against Arkansas on May 26. Dolcini was spectacular for the Longhorns in her final start in the Seattle Regional on May 22.

She didn’t give up a single earned run in seven innings of work, a complete game, on the mound. That saw Dolcini collect her 21st win on the season so far.

But Dolcini will really have her work cut out for her against one of the top offenses in the SEC in the Razorbacks. Washington was a difficult matchup, but Arkansas will take things up a notch this week for the standout senior pitcher.

If Texas wants to come away from the opener against the Razorbacks with a win, the bats will need to come through in a big way. Texas was mostly quiet offensively in the Seattle Regional, outside of one outburst late in the game in their first meeting against Washington last weekend.

The bats coming alive would go a long way to helping the Longhorns pull off the upset in this first meeting with Arkansas on May 26. No matter what happens on May 26, Texas will face Arkansas again on May 27, with the first pitch time set for 5:30 p.m. CT.

And depending on what happens in the first two games in the Fayetteville Super Regional, Texas and Arkansas could face each other in a deciding game on May 28 (start time still TBD).

Final score prediction on May 26: Arkansas-6, Texas-3
