There is a lot of hype building around what the offense can do for the Texas football program under second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian this coming season. Texas already had a pretty explosive offense at times last season.

And after adding a plethora of skill-position weapons and having this offensive group get another year of development under Sark’s schemes, this side of the ball for the Longhorns looks primed for a huge campaign in 2022. Texas has the depth and personnel necessary at the skill positions needed to possess one of the five best offenses in the country this fall.

Where the Longhorns will need to pick up the most is along the offensive line. Offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood has his work cut out for him this year to get his group ready to compete at a higher level in 2022 compared to last season.

The offensive line was clearly the weak point on this side of the ball for Sark and the Longhorns for most of last season. That can’t be the case if this Texas offense is to truly become one of the most productive and explosive in the country in 2022.

If some of the new additions from the 2022 recruiting class along the offensive line can make an immediate impact this fall, then the pieces will fall into place to maximize the skill position weapons right away.

Yet, it’s worth taking a look at what the Longhorns added and what the expectations should be statistically at the skill positions this fall. With that in mind, here’s a look at three skill position players for the Longhorns ready to destroy the stat sheet in 2022.
