Honorable mentions

Diamonte Tucker-Dorsey, LB

One of the transfer additions for Sark and the Longhorns staff that is set to arrive this summer is the former FCS All-American and James Madison Dukes grad transfer senior linebacker Diamonte Tucker-Dorsey. The most recent portal player to sign with the Longhorns will also be an immediate impact linebacker for this defense this fall.

It will be important to see how Tucker-Dorsey is able to acclimate himself to this linebacker room right away. With the rise in the level of competition that Tucker-Dorsey is going to face this coming season, he’ll need to adjust fast this summer.

Xavion Brice, WR/CB

One of the three-star signees in the Longhorns 2022 class is the former Oklahoma Sooners commit and the versatile Seguin athlete Xavion Brice. As one of the faster and more elusive signees in the Longhorns 2022 class, the process of Brice figuring out where he’ll fit on either side of the ball with this team will be critical.

Austin Jordan, DB

As one of the few blue-chip signees in the Longhorns 2022 class on this list, some might not feel that the label of “underrated” is appropriate for the four-star Denton-Ryan defensive back Austin Jordan. Yet, while most of the major recruiting ranking services slotted Jordan somewhere between the No. 150-200 high school prospect in the nation, his versatility, and polished skill set make him look like more of a top 100 or 125 prospect in this class.

There’s a good chance that if Jordan can make a positive impression on this staff right away during summer workouts and fall camp, he’ll see some early snaps this coming season.
