Among the many important offensive line signees in the Longhorns 2022 class is the former Oregon Ducks commit and the sizable 6-foot-5 and 360-pound three-star Duncanville offensive tackle Cameron Williams. If Williams can slim down a bit and get his body right to get some early reps in the trenches in the next couple of seasons, we’ll likely see his NFL Draft stock skyrocket.

Williams is very likely going to be a multi-year starter for offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood and the Longhorns. But just how quickly he can earn the role of being a starter along this offensive line will be the key for him in the next year or so.

There are a lot of necessary strides that Williams must make before assuming some regular starting reps in live game action. The lone addition for the Longhorns out of the NCAA Transfer Portal that made the top four on this list is the former Iowa State Cyclones senior wide receiver and grad transfer Tarique Milton. Texas landed a commitment from Milton out of the portal after missing on the former Pitt Panthers star sophomore and the reigning Biletnikoff Award winner Jordan Addison.

New wide receivers coach/passing game coordinator Brennan Marion, Sark, and the Longhorns will now have plenty of proven depth in the receiving corps after adding Milton to the mix. There were many times throughout Big 12 play last year when Texas was lacking in this department of wideout depth. Adding Milton helps to change that.

I would expect the smaller but quick and effective Milton to get some valuable backup reps out of the slot for the most part next season. He can still take snaps behind star sophomore Xavier Worthy at the h-wide receiver spot.
