Texas Softball vs. UCLA: Betting odds, TV/stream, pick
We’re now less than 24 hours away from the start of the run for head coach Mike White and the Texas softball program in Oklahoma City, OK, for the Women’s College World Series. Texas is set to get the Women’s College World Series going ahead of next weekend with the first game in OKC against the five-seed and red-hot UCLA Bruins out of the PAC-12.
The Longhorns got to the Women’s College World Series in OKC by pulling off the upset of the four-seed Arkansas Razorbacks in the Fayetteville Super Regional in three games last week. Texas won the final two games of the Fayetteville Super Regional to complete the upset of Arkansas.
That gives Texas a record of 43-19-1 (16-8 Big 12) following their triumphs in the Fayetteville Super Regional over Arkansas and in the Seattle Regional against the 13-seed Washington Huskies.
Meanwhile, UCLA heads into OKC sporting a record of 48-8 (19-5 PAC-12) following their clean sweep of the 12-seed Duke Blue Devils in the Los Angeles Super Regional over the weekend. UCLA carries an eight-game winning streak into the first game of the Women’s College World Series following their undefeated run through the postseason thus far.

Texas softball vs. UCLA pick
UCLA is the favorite for an obvious reason in this game as they are red-hot ahead of the start of the Women’s College World Series. The Bruins haven’t lost a game dating back to the end of the regular season. But the Longhorns had to fight against opponents that were favored over them the entire way so far this postseason.
Texas is used to this type of game. And that could motivate White and the Longhorns heading into this one.
We’re likely going to see senior Hailey Dolcini get the start for the Longhorns as she looks to claim her 23rd win of the season. And Texas will look to get the bats going behind the efforts of the All-American infielder Janae Jefferson.
Texas wasn’t a very high-scoring team throughout the postseason thus far. And that will likely be the case once again facing a tough pitching and defensive team in the Bruins.
White and the Longhorns just got done getting through the four-seed in the postseason. But we’ll see if there’s any hangover from that win in the Fayetteville Super Regional for the Longhorns in a high-stakes game to start off what is sure to be an exciting WCWS in OKC.
