There won’t be a more impactful new addition to the roster among any of the newly enrolled defensive backs right away for the Longhorns than the touted former four-star recruit and in-stat product Terrance Brooks. This Texas native cornerback was the highest-rated defensive back that signed in the Longhorns 2022 recruiting class.

And he should be arriving in Austin for the summer semester with plenty of confidence about what’s to come for him this fall. He’s definitely got the skill set necessary to succeed right away on the Forty Acres. The early live-game reps will be there for Brooks if he can make the right impression on the staff in the next couple of months.

Part of making the right impression on this coaching staff heading into the fall will be getting a good start in summer workouts. Brooks will need to get his body right in workouts and prove that he can hang with this elite group of wide receivers in seven-on-seven drills.

The coaches will be watching to see how Brooks is able to transition to the college level. He’s definitely got the ball skills and strong frame needed to compete at this level. Brooks will have the opportunity to prove his coverage ability right away in the skill position work in summer workouts.

We will likely hear right away this summer how Brooks is doing in workouts. A good start could see his stock skyrocket heading into fall camp.
