Efe Abogidi, C

One of my personal favorite potential targets for the Longhorns in the transfer portal to help fill a gaping position of need in this rotation is the former standout Washington State Cougars 6-foot-10 and 225-pound sophomore center Efe Abogidi. Few big men stood out in the PAC-12 on a non-tournament team in the last couple of seasons the way Abogidi did.

The former PAC-12 All-Freshman Team selection had a solid last couple of seasons with the Cougs averaging around eight points per game, six rebounds, one steal, and two blocks.

Abogidi is likely searching for a bigger role where he can thrive with a better team around him. And that’s largely what the Longhorns could offer him as he would be joining a team that needs his skill set in the frontcourt unit and could legitimately contend in the postseason.

Mouhamed Gueye, PF/C

Another potential gem of a find for the Longhorns among big men in the transfer portal is also a former Cougar in the lengthy and potent 6-foot-11 and 215-pound freshman power forward/center Mouhamed Gueye.

Last season, Gueye faced many of the similar issues that Abogidi did at Wazzu. But each could now find a potentially better fit out of the portal next season with the Longhorns.

Gueye could also help the Longhorns upgrade their rebounding, length, and rim protection in the frontcourt unit by landing a big man such as Gueye. In limited minutes with the Cougs last season, Gueye averaged around seven points per game, five rebounds, one steal, and one block.

I would personally be a fan of the Longhorns nabbing a commitment out of the portal from either one of these former Wazzu big men.
