Chris Sodom, C

If the Longhorns are seeking out a player that could just dominate down low in terms of rebounding and rim protection, then there might not be a better option out there than the former Georgetown Hoyas and Delaware State Hornets senior center Chris Sodom. After finally seeing a spike in his minutes last season, Sodom was able to average more than two blocks per game while being named the MEAC Defensive Player of the Year.

The insane length that the 7-foot-3 and 230-pound center Sodom brings to the table would obviously be a big difference-maker down low for the Longhorns. That type of length would help give Texas the leg up in some Big 12 matchups and in some postseason matchups, like the one that cost them against the Purdue Boilermakers in the Round of 32.

Sy Chatman, PF

Texas could go out and get more frontcourt depth in a means that some Longhorns fans wouldn’t think at first with the former UMass Minutemen and Illinois State Redbirds senior power forward Sy Chatman. What I mean by Texas taking a different approach by adding a forward like Chatman is that they would be getting another gritty and hard-working player at the four to come off the bench.

Although, the difference between someone like Chatman and senior forwards Christian Bishop and/or Brock Cunningham is the fact that he is a more capable scorer. Last season at Illinois State, Chatman averaged just shy of 14 points per game whilst shooting a career-best clip from the field at 54.9 percent. He also put up career-bests in blocks per game (1.1) and rebounds (6.1) last season.
