Right guard

Starter: Devon Campbell

Backup: Cole Huston

The lone early enrollee among offensive linemen that signed in the Longhorns 2022 class is paired with one of the summer enrollees to form the two-deep in what will be a very young right guard position this fall. Freshmen Devon Campbell and Cole Huston will have a lot of pressure on their shoulders this coming season.

But it’s hard to see a world where offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood and the Longhorns won’t have Campbell among the starting linemen in the regular season opener on Sep. 3 against Louisiana-Monroe. Campbell has the frame and polished skill set necessary for him to compete at the collegiate level right away.

He’ll still need to make a positive impression on Flood and this staff during the summer in order for Campbell to set his path to be a Week 1 starter.

Center

Starter: Jake Majors

Backup: Logan Parr

There is a lot more optimism about what the Longhorns bring to the table at the center position this year compared to last. Texas has a center that got a lot better as the season moved along in 2021 returning as the projected starter in rising sophomore Jake Majors. He will be the anchor that Texas needs along this O-Line this fall.

Texas should also have a capable backup behind Majors on the two-deep in fellow sophomore Logan Parr. If Flood and the Longhorns do have more productivity they can rely upon at the center position this season, which will help elevate this entire offense in the Big 12.
