X-Wide receiver

Starter: Xavier Worthy

Backup: Agiye Hall

There should be good competition in the summer and the fall for the backup spot at the x-wide receiver position for the Longhorns. After adding the former touted Alabama freshman wide receiver Agiye Hall by way of the portal this spring, Texas has a very formidable duo at this spot behind the rising sophomore star Xavier Worthy.

Hall and sophomore Jaden Alexis will duke it out in the next few months to see who the next man up will be behind Worthy at the x-wide receiver spot. But it looks like the favorite heading into the fall to get the backup reps here will be Hall.

Yet, there’s no question who the set-in-stone starter will be at the X this fall. New wide receivers coach/passing game coordinator Brennan Marion has one of the brightest stars at the position in the entire country in Worthy.

H-Wide receiver

Starter: Jordan Whittington

Backup: Tarique Milton

This is another situation where there will be a shake-up on the two-deep depth chart with the summer enrollees arriving on campus at one of the wide receiver positions. Texas should be set at slot receiver entering fall camp after adding the experienced former Iowa State Cyclones senior wideout Tarique Milton by way of the portal a couple of weeks ago.

Milton should be a very experienced a reliable backup coming out of the slot behind the speedy and elusive rising redshirt junior Jordan Whittington.

If Whittington can stay healthy this fall, though, he should be one of the breakthrough wideouts in the Big 12. Reaching between 800 and 1,000 total yards definitely would not be out of the question this fall if Whittington can finally stay healthy the entire way.

Z-Wide receiver

Starter: Isaiah Neyor

Backup: Troy Omeire

The fact that Texas is very likely going to start the former Wyoming Cowboys breakout redshirt freshman Isaiah Neyor at the z-wide receiver spot means that there will be at least one transfer portal player at each wideout spot in the two-deep as of the summer. That goes to show how much good work Marion and Sark did in the portal at the position in the last few months.

Behind Neyor at the z-wide receiver spot this fall should be sophomore Troy Omeire if he can finally stay healthy even through fall camp.
