FSU schedules OV with 4-Star Texas football RB commit Tre Wisner
One of the blue-chip skill position commits for second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian in the 2023 Texas football recruiting class is now set to take a couple of official visits with other schools. Four-star DeSoto running back Tre Wisner is now officially slated to start his official visits next weekend, starting with the Florida State Seminoles.
Multiple reports, including one from Justin Wells of Inside Texas on Twitter a couple of weeks ago, confirmed that Wisner will be taking an official visit with Florida State. And the specific date for which the official with Florida State will begin is June 10.
Wisner is also reportedly set for an official visit with new head coach Mario Cristobal and the Miami Hurricanes this offseason.
Miami will also get an official visit from Wisner later this month.

A few of the other schools that are still pushing for Wisner at this point of the offseason are the Florida Gators, Oklahoma Sooners, and Texas A&M Aggies. Wisner almost exclusively has schools in Oklahoma, Texas, and Florida pushing for his commitment at this point in time.
Florida State definitely seems like one of the schools that are making Wisner a serious priority heading into the busy summer months on the recruiting trail. Wisner’s primary recruiter at Florida State, tight ends coach Chris Thomsen, is making a real push for him this offseason.
Thomsen has some local area connections around the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex during the three years he spent as TCU’s offensive line coach.
If there are any schools that new running backs coach Tashard Choice and the Longhorns have to worry about heading into the summer visit season with Wisner, it would definitely be Florida State and Miami. Texas A&M and Oklahoma could still make runs at Wisner by the fall, but they don’t have visits set with the DFW product as of yet for the summer or the fall.
But that could change in the next couple of months.
Wisner is one of five commits in the Longhorns 2023 class at the moment. He is one of the most recent commits in the 2023 class, which came a couple of months ago, along with the touted four-star Aldine Eisenhower (TX) wide receiver Ryan Niblett.
