This coming weekend, head coach David Pierce and No. 9 Texas baseball will get a tough test in facing the No. 8 East Carolina Pirates in the first-ever Greenville Super Regional. Texas gets this super regional matchup against ECU out of the American Athletic Conference following a clean sweep of the four-seed Air Force Falcons and two-seed Louisiana Tech Bulldogs last weekend in the Austin Regional.

The last loss for Pierce and the Longhorns came at the hands of the Oklahoma Sooners in the final game of the Big 12 Tournament.

Meanwhile, ECU got to this point by beating the likes of Coppin State, Virginia, and Coastal Carolina to get through the Greenville Regional. ECU was red-hot entering the Greenville Regional, having won 18 games in a row dating back to late April. They did have one loss to Coastal Carolina in the Greenville Regional last weekend, but they still have plenty of momentum heading into supers.

And the start times will be early for each of the first two games for this super regional. The start times in this time zone are compounded by the fact that this game is taking place in the eastern time zone in North Carolina.

Each of the first two games in this super regional between Texas and ECU (set for June 10 and 11, respectively) have a first pitch time set for 11 a.m. CT/Noon ET. And each of these games are set to be televised on ESPN2 and available to stream on the WatchESPN app.

If necessary, there will be a third game in the Greenville Super Regional between Texas and ECU on June 12, with the first pitch time TBA.
