Texas softball vs. OU: Odds, TV/stream, pick for WCWS Finals
It has all come down to this for the Texas softball program and head coach Mike White in the final round of the Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City, OK, this week. Texas is set to take on the top-seeded Oklahoma Sooners in a de facto Red River Rivalry game series in the WCWS Finals later this week.
White and the Longhorns got to the Women’s College World Series Finals by pulling off unlikely back-to-back upsets at the hands of the Big 12 Tournament Champion and seven-seed Oklahoma State Cowgirls. Texas had to beat Oklahoma State twice in one night on June 6 in OKC. That included a huge comeback late to beat the Pokes and All-American pitcher Kelly Maxwell to round out the night on June 7.
The two wins over the Pokes give the Longhorns a record of 47-20-1 heading into the final round of the WCWS.
Meanwhile, Oklahoma comes into the Women’s College World Series Finals sporting a record of 57-3 (17-1 Big 12) following their triumph over the five-seed UCLA Bruins in an elimination game on June 6. But UCLA did manage to push the semifinal matchup with Oklahoma to an unlikely final game. That’s where the Sooners run-ruled the Bruins in just five innings, by the final score of 15-0.
The first meeting between Texas and Oklahoma on June 8 in the WCWS Finals will be the second so far in OKC between these two teams.
Here’s a look at the betting odds, TV/streaming information, and game prediction as Texas takes on Oklahoma in the first game of the WCWS Finals in OKC on June 8, with the first pitch time set for 7:30 p.m. CT.

Texas softball vs. OU pick
Texas will be looking to get their second and third wins of the season over the Sooners in order to win the program’s first-ever Softball National Championship. White and the Longhorns will need the likes of Courtney Day and the team’s bats to come alive in order to compete with this juggernaut Oklahoma squad.
Day was insanely clutch for the Longhorns in the two wins over Oklahoma State on June 6. She had two three-run home runs in the two meetings with the Pokes, both of which were potentially the biggest catalysts in Texas staying alive in OKC.
Texas is likely going with senior pitcher Hailey Dolcini as the starter in Game 1 in the WCWS Finals on June 8. But White is clearly comfortable with giving some valuable innings on the mound to Estelle Czech along with Dolcini. We will see both of them at some point during the WCWS Finals.
Day and the Longhorns will need more than just a clutch gene that hits at the right time to top an opponent as good as Oklahoma. The pitching will need to be stellar (likely not allowing more than five earned runs per game) and the bats will need to provide some valuable and steady run support.
