This coming weekend will really be the first of a key visit season for second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Texas football program. Throughout the rest of the month of June, Sark and his staff will keep their focus mainly on the recruiting trail for the 2023 and 2024 classes as they’re set to get some critical visitors to campus in the weeks ahead.

Sark and the Longhorns staff will start out the summer visit season on the recruiting trail this coming weekend with a few important visitors on campus among targets of the 2023 and 2024 classes. And while this won’t be the biggest visit weekend of the month, it is important to get this set of visits right with a few key targets making their way to Austin.

A good portion of the visitors in Austin this coming weekend will be on campus due to the Longhorns camp that will be taking place in the next few days. Especially among targets of the Longhorns 2024 class, that will be a big draw to Austin for this initial visitor weekend this month.

With that in mind, here’s a look at three of the most important visiting recruits for the Longhorns this weekend.

Micah Hudson, WR

Among the top 2024 recruits visiting Austin this weekend is the elite five-star Lake Belton wide receiver (TX) Micah Hudson. As one of the top early targets at the wide receiver position for the Longhorns 2024 class, Hudson is going to have the full attention of Sark and new wide receivers coach/passing game coordinator Brennan Marion.

Texas has some work to do early on with Hudson in order to start setting the pace in this recruitment. He’s already taken multiple unofficial visits with the likes of the Texas Tech Red Raiders, Baylor Bears, and LSU Tigers, among other schools.

Some of the top schools at the moment for Hudson look to be Texas Tech, Baylor, and the SMU Mustangs. But this summer can serve as a good opportunity for Sark, Marion, and the Longhorns to make up some ground in the race to land a commitment from Hudson.

And that process of gaining more traction with Hudson could really launch this weekend.
