We are still in the early stages of summer workouts for second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Texas football program this week. Last week, Texas welcomed nearly two-dozen summer enrollees to campus among the new additions to the program by way of the 2022 recruiting class and the NCAA Transfer Portal.

And with all the new faces on campus for the Longhorns, fans want to know who is standing out and making an instant impression on the coaching staff.

There is one name that has come to the surface among those new additions for the Longhorns standing out in a big way early in the summer workout schedule this offseason. A report from Horns247 this week (paid content) indicates that one player that is making a positive impression on the coaching staff right away is the former Alabama Crimson Tide touted freshman wide receiver Agiye Hall.

The insane physical tools that Hall brings to the table is reportedly standing out to the Texas coaches so far. That would indicate that Hall is coming along as expected for the Longhorns early in summer workouts.

Hall is also reportedly looking the part in the on-field seven-on-sevens so far during summer workouts. It sounds like the energy and intensity he is bringing to the table is a positive sign for his transition into the program.

While Hall still has a long way to go to prove he’s ready to get valuable live-game reps this fall, this report is a good early sign of what could be to come from him. That is especially the case since one of the main concerns with Texas adding Hall out of the portal was how he would adjust after a very short stint with the defending National Champion runner-up Alabama.

Moreover, it’s also important for Hall to standout during summer workouts and fall camp so that he’s able to get a significant role in this receiving corps this fall. There’s going to be a lot of competition to get live-game reps early this season considering all the talent and depth in this wide receiver room.

Hall was one of a trio of touted wide receivers among the summer enrollees for the Longhorns also including four-star Spearman product Brenen Thompson and former Iowa State Cyclones grad transfer Tarique Milton.
